Maryland Justice Passport
A Justice Passport is a digital portfolio of information to assist Marylanders seeking legal help. This free, secure, trauma-informed technology allows users to get referrals to legal help, store important case-related documents, track events and deadlines, create notes and tasks, and more.
Economic Justice Program
Through a combination of in-house services and representation through our statewide network of consumer protection attorneys, Civil Justice helps Marylanders keep precious assets in their pockets and recover damages for illegal business actions. Civil Justice offers free representation to tenants facing debt collection by their former landlords in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Anne Arundel County. Low bono, and contingency fee assistance is available statewide for those experiencing debt collection violations, credit reporting errors, and other unlawful actions including illegal evictions.
Foreclosure Assistance
Civil Justice (CJ) has launched the Foreclosure Legal Advice Program. Homeowners facing foreclosure, who do not have legal representation, may obtain free legal consultations with an attorney experienced with Maryland foreclosure law. CJ connects households, in all Maryland counties and Baltimore City, to foreclosure resources. Based on the unique circumstance of the household, CJ connects them with housing counselors, organizations offering free legal help, and/or CJ’s statewide network of affordable foreclosure defense attorneys.
CJ also offers the Title Tune-up program for households denied a loan modification and/or mortgage assistance for not being the title holder. The Title Tune-up program provides households free legal advice and representation for households to acquire a clear title to their home.
Family Law Self-Help Clinics
Attorneys assist with the completion of family law (domestic relations) court forms. This service is open to the public, without charge and without screening for income.
