Maryland AIDS Drug Assistance Program - PLUS

The MADAP-Plus program helps people living with HIV/AIDS in Maryland
access medication by obtaining and/or maintaining health insurance.

Eligibility

To qualify for payment, the health insurance must meet the following minimum standards:

  • a formulary (list of medications covered) comparable to MADAP’s
  • a coverage cap greater than $2,500
  • a deductible less than $1,000

Must eligible for MADAP, be responsible for paying 50% or more of their health insurance premium, and have completed the insurance section of the MADAP application (with required documentation). A copy of the person's current insurance premium bill must be included with the application.

Income Eligibility

Income at or below 500% of the current Federal Poverty Level:

Individual: $54,450 per year, or $4,537.50 per month
Couples: $73,550 per year, or $6129.17 per month

Effective for year 2011.

Appeals

If notified that you are ineligible for the program, you may file for an appeal hearing by following the "Instructions for a Hearing" set forth in your notification letter. All appeals must be sent to the Office of Administrative Hearings, 11101 Gilroy Road, Hunt Valley, Md. 21031-8201
